The first is with Lilly. We had her regular appt with our pediatric GI doctor this past week. We have been seeing Dr. Verga very regularly since Lilly was born. Her weight has been our constant struggle since she was born. Sometimes, you feel others are truly invested in our progress, and I think this past visit truly made her happy. We take great success in her accomplishments as well. It really has been a group effort at times to get Lilly to where she is today. I have had to had others want the best for her and also see the struggle that is our daily life. At this visit, Lilly weighed 25 3/4 lbs (now that she is over 3, she weighs on the big people scale, no more baby scale). This was a 2 lb weight gain from our last visit in January. Many people would think that 2 lbs is a big deal, but it's like moving mountains for us. The doctor was throughly pleased with this and so was I. Normal weight gain for toddlers is 5-8 grams/day. We have averaged about 4 gms/day. With this last period, we gained 8 1/2 grams/day. It was wonderful news. Dr. Verga was tempted to reduce some of the medicines Lilly is on. She continues to struggle with pretty bad reflux, which she takes medicine and in the morning and at night for, and she also remains on her eating medicine to increase her appetite. We decided not to change a good thing right now, and see how she does for a little longer. I asked if she should grow out of the reflux when she continues to get a little stronger and bigger, the answer was hopefully. Some kids do and some are just left with this as if they had any other disease like diabetes. Hopefully, this will continue to get better, because I know how bad it can make you feel. I pray we continue to have our period of wellness and no one is sick (I know with 3 children, it's not likely to continue). I pray that Lilly continues to feel well, and continues to eat well.
Alex also had his 3 year old check up this past month. He weighed 31 1/4 lbs. This puts him in the 30% for weight. He continues to eat well and has done well lately without being sick.
The twins continue to progress with their speech and everyday is getting better. their vocabulary and ability to understand them is also getting better daily. We continue to receive speech therapy and will have to find somewhere to continue that when we get to Connecticut.
Julian has also been playing baseball this season. This past Friday, Julian had a wonderful game. He got 3 hits and scored twice. He did so great, it was so exciting to sit and watch your child do something so good that doesn't come naturally to him. It is wonderful to see his hard work and practice pay off, and to see everyone get so excited for him. We will miss the sports here in Easton when we move. It is such a small community here, that he plays sports with the same boys, year after year. The parents that coach really like Julian and want to see him do well and succeed. Hopefully, we will find a similar setting at our new home.

We are also in the home stretch of moving. The movers come in just a couple days and we will start this process all over again. Hopefully, we will be in connecticut a little longer, but know it is all for the better. A new chapter is about to begin and we can only look at it as a new beginning.
