I can't believe I have a 9 year old. It does just seem like yesterday. I can still remember the day so well that I became a mom for the first time. It was definitely the best day of my life up to that point. I had always wanted to become a mom, and my first was a beautiful baby boy. He has been my mamma's boy from the start and I love watching him grow and thrive. I love watching him become a big boy and how smart he is. We love watching him try new things and watch his effort and love for others grow. He is infectious and everyone loves him right away. He loves his family, friends, and pets. I think he will always have a special place in everyone's heart.
This is birthday celebration #1. We had Dee Dee and PaPa over for dinner and some birthday cookie cake.
Birthday Celebration #2 was on his actual birthday. Julian loves red velvet cake, but requested it be blue for his birthday. I did put blue food coloring in the cake, but it turned out green. I tried.
As alwasys, I have my little helpers to help make the cake. Many hands in the pot trying to help.
Here is the final product: We decided to go with the green theme when the blue cake didn't work out. Looks like we need to be celebrating St. Patrick's day. All that counts is that he loved it.
For this celebration, Dee Dee, PaPa, and daddy were out of town, but Blake came by for dinner and cake and to help us celebrate. Uncle Blake also brought a great present to add to the day. It was a small celebration, but one he will remember and was very happy. We always love to see our kids happy and think he had a wonderful day!
Looks like a lot of candles. Still can't believe he is 9, so not looking forward to double digits (as Julian says) next year. Please slow down and stop growing.
Happy Birthday to my sweet Julian. I will always love you and cherish you for who you are!
